18 teachers participated.

400 books were received, from Junior Infants to 6th Class, by March 15th. All participants received a certificate, and at least one from each class received a Merit award of a book token, and there were three or four Highly Commendeds in each class.

On May 4th, Don Conroy, the artist and RTE presenter, presented the awards in the Killeshin Hotel.

2 participants were chosen at random (from Cloneygowan and Sacred Heart Portlaoise schools) to represent the Centre at a celebration of the Project in Blackrock Education Centre in June, which was attended by President Mary McAleese.
