PDST Primary RSE Relationships and Sexuality Education Seminar

PDST are offering new RSE full-day seminars this term. The focus of the seminar will be primarily on teaching the sensitive elements of RSE from Infants to Sixth class, in the context of Social, Personal and Health Education. The course will be experiential and practical in its approach.

The seminar will include:

? An overview of RSE as a core component of SPHE

? The role and function of an RSE policy

? Methodologies for teaching RSE

? Creating a safe classroom environment

Participants are asked to bring along their own copies of the four RSE books entitled “Resource Materials for Relationships & Sexuality Education”, which are available to download from http://www.pdst.ie/node/811 or purchase from https://www.laoisedcentre.ie/pdstpublications/

You are invited to nominate one or two teachers from your school to attend this seminar. The Department of Education and Skills will provide substitute cover where required. The groups will be limited to 24 participants and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
