Laois Education Centre Post Primary SENCO Forum in collaboration with Dr Johanna Fitzgerald MIC & Josephine Moore LOETB30.11.2022

Are you a SENCO in a post primary school in the region? Would you like to join a group of fellow SENCOs for collegial support, networking opportunities, collaborative professional learning and resource sharing?

The SENCO role in the Irish context is in a constant state of flux. It is a critical role in schools, but lack of recognition of the role at policy level, and its strategic importance to schools, has created challenges for SENCOs and schools.

The agenda for the meeting will be:

• Student Support Planning in Post primary Schools: workshop/ discussion facilitated by Josephine Moore
• Irish Exemptions and implications for SENCOs, planning and SSPs: Discussion facilitated by Johanna Fitzgerald

We would encourage SENCOs and SETs to bring ideas, examples of good practice, and questions they have relating to both topics. The meeting will be interactive, and we will share resources with each other.
