Post Primary JC science teachers will come together within a face-to-face in Community of Practice and will discuss an area of interest to them regarding teaching JC science. This topic is decided upon by the group and becomes the focus of discussion for the group. Examples include pedagogies that can improve our practice/ helping students with exam stress/teaching a certain topic on the course. Sharon will facilitate the CoP, help participants to engage and offer ideas of focus if required. CoPs such as this, can offer an engaging and supportive learning environment that teachers look forward to.
As a participant of this community of practice;
1. You will belong to a supportive group of science teachers from different schools, who bring their experience and context with them to the group
2. You will be part of a group that discuss and learn about an area of your science practice
3. You will gain insight and ideas from the group that you can bring to your teaching
4. You will make contact with other science teachers where you can share ideas of pedagogy to bring to your class over a period of time.
This CoP is for Post Primary JC Science teachers and will be taking place face-to-face in Laois Education Support Centre.
